Simple cyber tips that protect your online security
1. Check the URL
Should you see any links that look like Tokenize but seem a bit suspicious, verify before clicking on anything is a smart decision.
Here are the official URLs to our social media channels:
What does a suspicious link look like?
- The link looks like an untrusted site or contains unusual characters.
- The embedded URL differs from the link shown.
2. Look out for SSL Certificates
SSL certificates also help to display secure connections via the padlock icon on your web browser. If the connection is secure, it should look something like this:
3. Be On The Look Out For Phishing
Phishing is a type of social engineering attack often used to steal user data, including login credentials and credit card numbers. It occurs when an attacker, masquerading as a trusted entity, dupes a victim into opening an email, instant message, or text message. The recipient is then tricked into clicking a malicious link, which can lead to the installation of malware, the freezing of the system as part of a ransomware attack or the revealing of sensitive information.
An attack can have devastating results. For individuals, this includes unauthorized purchases, the stealing of funds, or identify theft. Therefore, always check on the URL of the website.
4. Beware of Tokenize Xchange scam Facebook pages.
There are numerous scam sites trying to impersonate our page on Facebook. While a scam page may resemble our official Facebook page, here are usually ways to tell if something is off.
- The company name is misspelled or spelled differently or added with by a comma (,) or period (.)
- Comes together with an unbelievable offer (for example YOU HAVE WON 1 BTC!)
